After six years of construction, a symbol of Dubai, an elegant concrete “Sail” appeared on the specially constructed artificial island. The luxurious hotel marked a new goal of the country – to become a place of exclusive tourism, the so-called elite club of the rich.
Expectations of the emir were justified – the “Sail” has become the major sight of the UAE, where each tourist should be photographed. Generally, Burj Al Arab opened the road to architectural madness in the UAE.

This is one of the few hotels opened for tourists – it would be a crime to hide such beauty from people who don’t have the opportunity to spend thousands of dollars for a night.
$ 3 billion and 2 tons of gold were used for finishing the Emirates Palace. This fact makes it one of the world’s most expensive constructions. Walking around the adjoining territory, you immediately feel a special atmosphere and see the fullness of Arab generosity and love for splendor.

Burj Khalifa holds the title of the tallest building on the globe, which is a solid achievement. All innovative technologies were implemented in its construction. Every day, up to 12,000 workers were involved in the building process.
The construction of the skyscraper began in 2004 and ran at a speed of 1-2 floors per week. About 320 thousand m³ of concrete and more than 60 thousand tons of steel fittings were used for its creation. The shape of the building is asymmetric to reduce the effect of wobble from the wind. Burj Khalifa is decorated with tinted glass thermal panels, which reduce the heating of premises inside of the building.
2nd Place – Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Abu Dhabi
Beginning of construction: 1996
Cost: $ 545 million
This is the most valuable stone in the jewelry box of the UAE.
The last thing you want to say about the amounts spent on its construction, and the records that it has set. All this becomes secondary, when you see a dazzling white like a freshly fallen snow mosque named after the father of the nation, Sheikh Zayed.
In the evening, when the sun goes over the horizon, and the last tourists leave it, the mosque is dressed in amazing shades. This is due to the unique lighting system, which was specially designed for the mosque and changes the color of the domes depending on the phase of the moon.
